Starling Membership

The Starling Centre for Just Technologies and Just Societies is the premier venue for research, community engagement, critique, and impactful interventions on emerging technologies and socio-technical systems at Western University. We invite Western faculty members, staff, and students with aligned interests to learn more about membership in Starling’s interdisciplinary community.


How to Apply: Prospective members may nominate themselves by completing the online form linked below. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis. The co-directors and research coordinator will review applications on the basis of evidence of commitment to the Centre’s values and mission. Please note that applicants will be prompted to submit the following items in the application form; have them ready before proceeding:

• A concise biography (max 150 wds)
• A description of your current research interests (max 150 wds)
• A file (.pdf or .doc) that lists recent publications or other scholarly activities
• For faculty and graduate students: a high-resolution photo of yourself that you’d like to use on your membership profile
